Haftom-e-Tir Industrial Complex
Description

Located on Mobarakeh Road, approximately 45 km south of Isfahan, the Haftom-e-Tir (Seventh of Tir) Industrial Complex is a subsidiary of Iran's state-owned Defense Industries Organization (DIO), and one of several suspected DIO sites involved in the production of centrifuge components for Iran's nuclear program.

According to the Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS), in the early 2000s DIO specialists at a facility located within the Haftom-e-Tir Industrial Complex were contracted by the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) to manufacture sensitive parts for Iran's P1 centrifuges—including its bellows and 10,000 sets of rotating components—which were to be installed at the Natanz enrichment site. The facility reportedly did not finish manufacturing all of the centrifuge components, however, and it is not clear whether the Haftom-e-Tir Industrial Complex continues to be involved in Iran's centrifuge research and development efforts.

Underground bunkers located at the Haftom-e-Tir Industrial Complex may also be used to store high explosives or propellants. About two weeks after the explosion at the Bid Kaneh missile base, on November 28, 2011, another blast was heard in several parts of Isfahan. City authorities initially confirmed reports and stated that the explosion occurred as a result of a "military maneuver," but denied that it was related to the Isfahan uranium conversion facility, thus drawing speculation that the explosion could have emanated from the bunkers at the nearby Haftom-e-Tir site.
