Description

Iran announced its plans to construct a nuclear power plant at Darkhovin as early as 2005. In a letter dated 22 September 2009, Iran provided the IAEA with preliminary design information for the Darkhovin plant, which it described as a 360 megawatts-electric (MWe) pressurized water reactor. The construction of the plant is reportedly scheduled to start in 2011, with commissioning to take place in 2015.
